Welcome to the Clay Guild's Power of the Purse Page
Every year, the Greater Lafayette Clay Guild works together to make close to 1,000 handmade clay bowls for the annual Clay Bowl Giving Project. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we weren't able to gather in person this year but we wanted a way for Clay Bowl to move forward and continue a long-standing tradition of supporting YWCA's Domestic Violence Intervention & Prevention Program. That's why we're participating as a PurseSetter for the 2020 Power of the Purse campaign.
How does Clay Bowl work as part of Power of the Purse?
When you make a donation of at least $20 to the Clay Guild's Power of the Purse page, you are eligible to receive a Clay Bowl, just as you would have if we were able to have Clay Bowl in person at YWCA here's how it works:
- Go to http://support.ywca.org/goto/claybowl (this page!)
- Make a donation of $20 or more. For every $20 you donate, you will be able to receve 1 bowl. For example: $20 donation = 1 bowl, $30 donation = 1 bowl, $40 donation = two bowls (if you want the second bowl).
- Print or keep your donation receipt for your records. Bring it with you on pick up day.
- On Thursday, October 29 we will host a drive-through Clay Bowl pick-up day at YWCA! Eligible donors will be able to pick up their bowls from 11 am - 1 pm or 5 pm - 7 pm.
- Orders of 10 bowls or more to a single address will be eligible for delivery from 2-5 pm. If this applies to you, please email communications@ywcalafayette.org
Drive Through Procedures
In an attempt to move folks through the drive-through line as seamlessly as possible, bowls will be selected by Clay Guild members, YWCA staff or volunteers and passed through the vehicle window. Donors will not have an option to browse a complete selection of bowls as they would at a regular Clay Bowl event.
- Cars will enter the YWCA circle drive from the south (Cincinatti Street side) at the front of the building at 605 N. 6th Street.
- If a line develops, cars should line up along Cincinatti Street
