Welcome to My Power of the Purse Page
Greetings friends, family and community partners,
I have committed to participating and raising funds for YWCA Greater Lafayette's Power of the Purse – a fundraising campaign to support women, survivors and families through vital YWCA services.
The Power of the Purse is the ability and power to make independent financial decisions. Throughout history, women and marginalized communities have been denied full power over their own purses.
And this year more than ever women and their families are struggling. 2020 has been a series of set-backs and disappointments for so many in our community. Won't you consider a donation to help lighten that load and to send a ray of sunshine in an otherwise dark time.
To encourage your generous support I am going to share some sweetness with you. For any individual or family that donates $100 or more towards my Purse Setter goal, I will personally deliver some sweet treats from one of our fine local bakeries to your doorstep.
Through domestic violence intervention, access to cancer screenings, youth development programs and empowerment services, YWCA works every day to lift up women and girls in our community. They are on a mission to make sure every person has the opportunity to live a life with dignity, a life that is free of violence and full of potential. The welcoming and judgement-free programming is a safe space for women of all backgrounds to feel safe, supported and strengthened.
Like YWCA Greater Lafayette, I believe that with support, empowerment and financial assistance, we can remove barriers to make this mission a reality. That’s why I’m committed to raising $1,000 for YWCA Greater Lafayette's Power of the Purse. I’ve set an ambitious goal to support YWCA and hope that you’ll join with me! The money raised will help these essential, empowering programs to continue thriving.
Thank you for your kindness.
None of us, including me, ever do great things. But we can all do small things, with great love, and together we can do something wonderful. - Mother Teresa
