YWCA Briefing: Breaking Intergenerational Cycles of Domestic Violence and Trauma
Location: Capitol Visitor Center, Room SVC 212-10
Doors open at 11:30. Lunch provided.
Domestic violence and trauma can occur at any point in a person’s lifetime. This trauma has lifelong impacts for victims and their families, often triggering cycles of abuse across generations. In recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we invite you to join YWCA to hear from local service providers who are effectively helping victims and their children heal and thrive through programs supported by the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), the Family Violence Prevention & Services Act (FVPSA), and other federal programs. These YWCAs provide trauma-informed services that meet the housing, economic, justice, and other needs of survivors of violence and abuse.
Speakers will include:
5:30 PM - 7:00 PM
YWCA Week Without Violence Reception
Location: Senate Visitor Center, North Meeting Room
Come celebrate with us the 25th Anniversary of the Violence Against Women Act and the 35th Anniversary of the Family Violence Prevention & Services Act.
Light fare will be served.
