V-Day is a global movement to END VIOLENCE against women and girls. Through V-Day campaigns, local volunteers produce annual benefit performances of The Vagina Monologues to raise awareness and funds for anti-violence groups within their own communities. Here in York, YWCA York Junior Board coordinates a production of the monologues as part of our V-Day York campaign.
JOIN US for an unforgettable girls night out at the encore production of this spellbinding play, while also changing lives in your own backyard.YWCA York's V-Day fundraiser supports our victim services that provide resources to those effected by domestic violence, human trafficking and sexual assault. The Vagina Monologues is an Obie Award-winning whirlwind tour of a forbidden zone. The monologues introduce a wildly divergent gathering of female voices, including a septuagenarian New Yorker, a vagina workshop participant, a woman who witnesses the birth of her granddaughter, a six-year-old girl, a Bosnian survivor of rape, and a feminist happy to have found a man who “liked to look at it."
