Welcome to My Power of the Purse Page
Hello from Pat and Kelley Carr,
Thirteen years ago we began a special journey to support the YWCA Domestic Violence Program via the Shelter and all the important services to women and children in need of safe shelter. So many community members/friends joined us in 2018 to achieve this mission. We are thankful to everyone.
Here we are in 2020 and the NEED is just as great as ever. Kelley and I ask you to join us to continue these vital services.

Thank You for your consideration.
I have committed to participating and raising funds for YWCA Greater Lafayette's Power of the Purse – a fundraising campaign for survivors of domestic violence in Tippecanoe and surrounding counties.
One of the roadblocks many survivors face is financial dependence on their abuser. Without financial independence, many survivors feel they have no other option but to go back. YWCA is on a mission to empower survivors through job training, housing assistance, financial literacy programs and more because they know the Power of the Purse is freedom from abuse.
Like YWCA Greater Lafayette, I believe that with support, empowerment and financial assistance, we can remove barriers so that victims of domestic violence can not only survive, but thrive in independent lives, free from abuse and control. That’s why I’m committed to raising $1,000 for YWCA Greater Lafayette's Power of the Purse. I’ve set an ambitious goal to support YWCA and hope that you’ll join with me! The money raised will help these essential, empowering programs to continue thriving.
