Team Purple has committed to participating and raising funds for YWCA Greater Lafayette's Power of the Purse – a fundraising campaign to support women, survivors and families through vital YWCA services.

The "Power of the Purse" is the ability and power to make independent financial decisions. Throughout history, women and marginalized communities have been denied full power over their own purses. 

Through domestic violence intervention, access to cancer screenings, youth development programs and empowerment services, YWCA works every day to lift up women and girls in our community. They are on a mission to make sure every person has the opportunity to live a life with dignity, a life that is free of violence and full of potential. The welcoming and judgement-free programming is a safe space for women of all backgrounds to feel safe, supported and strengthened.

Like YWCA Greater Lafayette, we believe that with support, empowerment and financial assistance, we can remove barriers to make this mission a reality. That’s why we're committed to raising $50,000 for YWCA Greater Lafayette's Power of the Purse. We’ve set an ambitious goal to support  YWCA and hope that you’ll join with me! The money raised will help these essential, empowering programs to continue thriving.

Funds raised by Team Purple will be used to best support the needs of YWCA's Domestic Violence Intervention & Prevention Program.
