From October 1-30, YWCA Greater Lafayette needs your help to stand with women and families in Tippecanoe and surrounding counties who utilize the vital, unduplicated services provided by YWCA every day.
The COVID-19 pandemic has created massive hurdles for both clients seeking services and nonprofits working to serve people in need. From closed buildings, cancelled events, and non-essential programming reduces, the financial ramifications of COVID-19 will extend well past the end of 2020. We need your help more than ever to help weather this storm.
Join YWCA Greater Lafayette by helping us build the financial power to assist victims of domestic violence, support patients in need of screening and diagnostic care, and provide opportunities for women and girls to live full, independent, thriving lives.
Join us as a PurseSetter or make a donation of your own to help us reach our goal of raising $100,000 for women, survivors, and families in our community. Last year, you helped us raise more than $100,000 to support the Domestic Violence Intervention & Prevention Program. This year, PurseSetters from all over the community will compete on teams to support the entire organization.
Meet the Teams
PurseSetters are community leaders, concerned citizens and supportive business owners who are ON A MISSION with YWCA Greater Lafayette to fill YWCA's purse and support women, survivors, and girls in Tippecanoe and surrounding counties. This year, each PurseSetter will join one of three teams, competing against each other to see who can raise the most and support their program.
Each team will focus on a particular aspect of YWCA’s work in our community.
Team Persimmon will focus on work being done around racial justice and empowerment programs for women and girls.
Team Pink will highlight services in YWCA's Women's Cancer Program that provide no-cost breast and cervical cancer screening and diagnostic procedures to women of low income.
Team Purple will advocate for YWCA's Domestic Violence Intervention & Prevention Program, which operates a 30-bed emergency shelter, a 24/7 crisis hotline, support groups, legal advocac and more.
