Fundraising Tips and Tools
Girls running team
Every dollar you raise helps fund the important programs, services, advocacy and impact we are making for 6,000+ women, children and families in our community. You can be an empowered fundraiser by using a few of these simple tips and helpful resources.

1. Register for the YWCA Dash and Bash

2. Set a personal goal or team fundraising goal
Establishing a goal is an easy way to maintain motivation as well as give you and your team a benchmark for success.

3. Start today!
There is no time like the present. And results show the sooner you start, the more you’ll raise. If you need, help just give us a call at 303-443-0419 and ask for Brittny Wilson.

4. Give to yourself
You’ll set the example and kick-start your fundraising. Research also shows that individuals who self-donate raise double the amounts of those who don’t.

5. Know your networks
Make a list of every person you know-friends, family, neighbors, acquaintances, and business associates. You have just created your donor list.

6. Be ready to educate
People will have questions and want to more about the gift their impact will make. Learn more about the YWCA

7. Set up your fundraising page to tell your story
Once you are registered you have a Participant Center which is your very own fundraising web page. Be sure to customize it with your story and picture.

 8. Create your own get-together or event to raise money
  • The kids can do a Lemon aide empowerment stand to raise money and build awareness.
  • Have a potluck event and ask guests to make a donation to your team.-
  • Use your birthday as a reason to raise money for something you care about, empowering women and girls and eliminating racism. You can provide the link to your participant center and invite friends and family to give a donation instead of a birthday gift.
  • Ask everyone you do business with to sponsor you or your team. Your dentist, hairdresser, accountant, personal trainer… This is an opportunity for these individuals to donate to an important cause and support you at the same time.
  • Get some friends together and host a “glam” clothing swap.
9. Leverage your social media networks
Facebook, Instagram and Twitter are just a few of the places you can share your story and provide your link to have friends give to you online. It’s a great way for you to build awareness about how you are impacting our work to empower women and eliminate racism while giving others the opportunity to support you and the YWCA.

10. Double your impact with matching gifts
A lot of companies do it for their employees and some will also do it for customers. Make sure you remind your donors that their company may match their gift.

11. Ask far and wide!
Many think the initial ask can be difficult, but it’s easier if you tell everyone why you are doing what you are doing. The excitement is contagious and your story will inspire others. Your commitment and passion will be the reason they choose to give you a donation! Remember, you aren’t asking them to give YOU a donation, you’re giving them an opportunity to make a difference in the world through your participation in the YWCA Dash and Bash.
