From October 1-30, during Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Breast Cancer Awareness Month, YWCA Greater Lafayette and leaders in our community will be raising funds to illustrate the Power of the Purse to combat domestic violence, beat breast cancer and support YWCA's mission of eliminating racism and empowering women. 

A Funding Crisis

The COVID-19 pandemic has created massive hurdles for both clients seeking services and nonprofits working to serve people in need. From closed buildings, cancelled events, and non-essential programming reduces, the financial ramifications of COVID-19 will extend well past the end of 2020. We need your help more than ever to help weather this storm.

Participating in Power of the Purse will ensure that YWCA Greater Lafayette is able to continue to provide vital programs and services to combat domestic violence, provide no-cost early screening for certain types of cancer, and provide programs to empower women and girls regardless of funding restrictions related to COVID-19.

Start a Fundraiser

Create a team or register as an individual and set a personal Power of the Purse fundraising goal! Start conversations with your friends, family, co-workers and more to recruit their support and reach your goal!

Make a Donation

Support a friend, or make a general donation to YWCA's Power of the Purse campaign. Every dollar helps provide vital services to women, survivors and families in Tippecanoe and surrounding counties.

Attend an Event

Power of the Purse fundraising partners will be holding safe, socially distance  events throughout the month of October, attend an event like Dine Out Against Domestic Violence to support the campaign while enjoying a meal with family or friends.
